4:30 PM: ARRIVAL AT CABARET DE LICQUES AND REHEARSALS
After sometimes several hours of travel, it is now time to head to the cabaret for the weekend performances. The artists return to the dressing rooms of Cabaret de Licques, and a joyful buzz settles in. For the magic to work at every show, the artists of Cabaret de Licques rehearse several times a month. 6:15 PM: DINNER BEFORE THE SHOW
This is the most important moment of the day. The artists of Cabaret de Licques sit down to eat around 6:15 PM to gather strength before the show begins. 7:45 PM: MAKEUP TIME
For each performance, several minutes are necessary for the cabaret artists to prepare to go on stage. Makeup, hair… The artists do their own stage makeup every evening. 10:30 PM: A FRENCH CANCAN WORTHY OF PARISIAN CABARETS
The acts follow one another at a frantic pace, and then comes the long-awaited moment of the traditional French Cancan. An essential cabaret act and a symbol of France, formerly called the Quadrille. Dressed in their petticoats and frills, the male and female dancers perform acrobatics to thunderous applause. Jumps, splits, cathedrals, and other sequences follow one another to this wild tune.
11:45 PM: END OF SHOW, TIME TO REST
It’s the grand finale, applause is in full swing. The evening’s show is coming to an end. The artists salute the spectators before leaving the stage. The curtain closes in an electric atmosphere. Only a few hours remain before tomorrow’s performance. Because between rehearsal times, preparation, and shows, it is imperative to allow for moments of rest while taking care to stay in shape and maintain one’s body. After a small snack and a series of stretches, it is now time to return to their accommodations for a short period of sleep.
